On May 8, 2014, Stephen and I happened upon this abandoned airfield. We took photos and aerial video but were so interested to find out the history, we did some research. We came upon an amazing website, Abandoned and Little Known Airfields and have had the pleasure of corresponding with the websites' owner, Paul Freeman. His website contains descriptions and images of 1,789 airfields in all 50 states and is well worth viewing. Mr. Freeman's interest in aviation and these abandoned airfields sparked what is now his outstanding website (since 1999). If you enjoy the site as much as we do, please consider a small financial contribution. Click here for YouTube video, and thanks for watching!
